Jim Carr

Producer/Director

Jim has over 35 years of experience in Television production, is a six-time Emmy award winner and brings valuable experience to every production he is involved with. Credits include 16 Olympic Games with NBC & CBS, numerous World Championships and National Championships for Track & Field, Skiing, Equestrian and more around the country and the world as a Coordinating Producer, Producer and Director. 

Bob Hughes

Executive Producer Emeritus

Bob's extensive international experience includes years of host broadcasts, including oversight roles at the Torino, Vancouver and Beijing games, and major productions in more than a dozen countries on four different continents. While retired from day-to-day operations with CHP, Bob remains an essential consultant, maintaining extensive contacts with many domestic and international networks that give Carr-Hughes reach into the programming operations of networks worldwide.

RICH O’CONNOR

Vice President of Program Development/Producer

A 10-time Emmy Award-Winner, Rich has more than 35 years of experience in the sports television industry. Over that span, Rich has worked on 16 Olympic Games and prior to joining Carr-Hughes was Coordinating Producer of Motorsports for NBC. In addition to being a part of the production for 3 Daytona 500s, Rich managed more than a dozen motorsports properties and oversaw the production of the Indy 500, Rolex 24 Hour Race at Daytona, and five seasons of F1 coverage. Rich also worked at IMG/TWI for more than a decade where in addition to producing several Olympic preview series, was involved in TWI’s production of live golf and tennis, the New York City Marathon, track and field, and American Gladiators.

JEFF MONTY

Director of Production

The recipient of six Sports Emmy Awards, ‘Monty’ draws on 25 years of experience in broadcast journalism, with credits at HBO, ESPN, NBC Sports, NBA Entertainment & others, to lead the Saratoga Springs-based production team. A wearer of many hats, you often will find him editing, directing, producing, writing, and managing (sometimes all at the same time).  Off the field, he is a proud father & husband,  accomplished guitarist, cooking enthusiast, and an avid explorer of the Adirondack wilderness.

ADAM LUACES

Business Manager

Adam has twenty years of experience in logistics, operations, and business administration. After spending his formative years in the Adirondack foothills, he attended college in Manhattan, ultimately working in the Garment District for several titans of the retail fashion industry. He lives in Glens Falls with his wife, two children, and four dogs.

MELISSA IVES

Production Coordinator/Finance Controller/Crewer/Human Resource Coordinator

Melissa joined the Carr-Hughes team in 2004 and has nineteen years experience working in the sports and entertainment industry. Based in our Saratoga Springs office, she serves as our Controller, Crewer and oversees all Human Resource matters. With a passion for volunteering and helping others, she is constantly organizing company-wide activities to help support our local community. Melissa lives in Glens Falls, New York with her husband Bob and their son’s, Cooper & Brady. While she may wear many hats during working hours, her favorite job title is that of Mom. She spends most of her free time on the road, in the minivan she swore she would never own (and love), driving her very active boys to their many games and practices.

Don Krone

Production Manager Emeritus

Production and operations management is the specialty for Don Krone, whose experience ranges across Olympic and World Championship events in a number of winter sports. Prior to joining Carr-Hughes in 2012, Don produced the global television programs of the FIBT (International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation) for 13 years and has been a TV and special event technical manager at events such as the ESPN Great Outdoor Games, the Gravity Games, and the X Games.

Don has retired from day-to-day operations but remains a trusted and valuable consultant on our productions.

BEN SPILMAN

Production Manager

Ben joined the Carr-Hughes staff in February of 2022 and enjoys his role of traveling the country to help broadcast sporting events. As a sports enthusiast himself he grew up playing soccer and basketball throughout his school years in his hometown Glens Falls and in college. Ben attended SUNY Buffalo State where he was the goalie for the soccer team and still plays today with friends. He currently lives in downtown Saratoga Springs with his partner Emma and enjoys being involved in the many local community events. His other interests include traveling abroad and fostering rescue animals.

KRYSTAL HIRKO

Production Manager

Krystal has a decade of experience freelancing in live events, from Superbowl LVI & Olympic Trials to the Kentucky Derby. Krystal graduated from college with a degree in Sports Media Technology and has been on the ground running ever since. She currently lives in Omaha, NE with her daughter Brooklyn. Between dance, softball & violin… she’s a pretty busy mom but wouldn’t want it any other way! In her spare time she enjoys cheering on the Lakers, Mets & Saints, being from Nebraska you really don’t have any “home options” so why not pick one from every coast!

Lee Clements

Tech Manager

Lee’s journey to Carr-Hughes in 2023 has taken him all over the country for both film and television. At the end of the day, telling a good story has always been the foundation of his work, and he strives in the telling with technology. His story includes serving in the Army Reserves since 2005, degrees from Asbury College and Regent University, and a wealth of lessons learned in the field. He lives in Lexington, KY, with his wife Natalie, sons Isaac & Peter, and cats Snickers & Twix.

Bob Ives

ENG Camera Operator/Editor

Bob joined Carr-Hughes in November of 2005. Bob edits and shoots show content ranging from network sports, corporate, news, commercial and documentary. His work assignments have taken him to 48 states and abroad to locations in Europe, Australia and Dubai. Whether behind the camera or in the edit suite he is passionate about the content. In his free time, there's no place he'd rather be than with his wife Melissa and their two sons on a road trip or spending time camping on the Schroon River.

Andrew Carr

Associate Producer/Assistant Director

Andrew joined Carr-Hughes in May of 2017, after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Siena College. The production team’s “jack of all trades”, Andrew has a variety of supporting roles ranging from assistant editor, to tape library manager, and graphic designer. Outside of work, Andrew is an amateur genealogist and avid fantasy football manager.

Aidan Manning

Production Assistant

Aidan joined Carr-Hughes in fall of 2023. Aidan first interned with Carr-Hughes productions at the World University Games in January of 2023 and joined the team full time in the fall of the same year. Aidan graduated in May of 2023 from SUNY Plattsburgh. Aidan started as a handheld camera operator for the Saratoga Racecourse in 2022 and had done a variety freelance work in upstate NY. Aidan is a big ski and skateboard enthusiast and enjoys spending his winters on a mountain and summers in a skatepark with his friends.
